Amazon is continuing to expand in the Phoenix area as it celebrates their 10th year fulfilling orders in the valley. This fall they are opening a new center and overhauling their original facility. The two facilities will create more than 1,000 full-time jobs in addition to the 6,000 full-time workers Amazon employs at our Arizona fulfillment centers.
Amazon’s first fulfillment center in the Valley, at 6835 West Buckeye Road, opened in the fall of 2007 with 300 full-time workers. Since then, the company has opened three other fulfillment centers in Arizona, a Prime Now hub, a sorting center, a customer support center and administrative offices. Renovations recently were completed at the Buckeye Road facility, which is now dedicated to handling apparel and shoes. The new facility is located at 5333 W. Lower Buckeye Road.
