The Phoenix Musical Instrument Museum came in at 19th place among Trip Advisor’s list of top 25 museums in the United States.
Located in north Phoenix off the Loop 101 and Tatum Boulevard, the museum features a 300-seat theater with an acoustically superb design, a display collection of more than 13,000 musical instruments, 6,000 of those on display at all times. Other features of the museum include an Artist Gallery that displays instruments used by performers such as the John Lennon and Carlos Santana. Guests can also play some of the instruments in the Experience Gallery part of the museum. The gallery also has an area for children, preschool to second grade, to play instruments and enjoy their own musical experience.
Taking the top three places on the list were the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, The National WWII Museum in New Orleans, and the Art Institute of Chicago.
