The city of Bisbee made Architectural Digest’s cut for one of the top 25 small towns in the country.
The publication praised the former mining town for its one-of-a-kind architecture which features Victorian-style homes and an Art Deco-style courthouse.
It has made lists ranking it as one of the best places to visit, the best hippie town in the state, the best historic town nationwide, international list of best places to visit and more.
Founded in 1880, the town lies about 90 miles outside of Tucson. It started as a copper, gold and silver mining town. It was named after Judge DeWitt Bisbee, who funded the nearby Copper Queen Mine.
Be sure to visit the Smithsonian-affiliated Bisbee Mining and Historical Museum, the Turquoise Valley golf course, Warren Ballpark and a number of art galleries.
Escape the heat during the summer months. The high elevation of the city keeps the summer temperatures to the low 90s and upper 80s.
