The Hermosa Inn is being recognized as one of the best luxury hotels in the nation, according to the luxury travel magazine Condé Nast Traveler.
The Hermosa Inn in Paradise Valley, Arizona was ranked ninth-best in the nation and the best in the southwest by the magazine. The inn was built in the 1930s by artist Lon Megargee. Megargee built the inn as a “private escape” before later opening it up to guests.
“All these years later, the ownership has changed, but our luxury boutique inn retains that original intimate feel, complete with homey touches: Lon’s original artwork hanging on the walls, a flourishing garden, upscale furnishings throughout,” according to its website.
The inn was renovated in 2015 which included the addition of 10 deluxe hideaway casitas and a hotel bar named after Megargee.
Stephen Ast, the managing director for Condé Nast Traveler, said the recognition “speaks volumes about both the enhancements that ownership has made in the hotel and especially the hospitality and service provided by our remarkable team who create authentic and memorable guest experiences that are unmistakably Arizona.”
